Six people were injured in the blast that damaged buildings, Alameda County firefighters said.

A powerful explosion left six people injured Thursday in Hayward.

Alameda County firefighters found multiple buildings on fire, Deputy Chief Ryan Nishimoto told nbcbayarea. 

The extent of injuries was not disclosed.

Three buildings on two properties suffered significant damage, while another building sustained minor damage. Debris was spread over a wide area.

Officials remained at the scene Thursday afternoon.
