GREENVILLE, S.C. -- A boy got stuck in a chimney Monday when he tried to use the inside of the stack to get down after scaling it, Piedmont Park firefighters said. Firefighters said the boy was hiking with friends when he decided to scale the 20-foot-tall chimney of an old building off Fire Tower Trail. They said when he got to the top, he realized he could not get down and thought he could lower himself down the inside of the chimney instead, but he could not fit through the hole at the base.

GREENVILLE, S.C. --

A boy got stuck in a chimney Monday when he tried to use the inside of the stack to get down after scaling it, Piedmont Park firefighters said.

The boy was stuck for about 90 minutes while crews lowered a rope into the chimney to pull him out, firefighters said.

Firefighters said the boy was not hurt.
