Frederick, South Dakota Grass Fire Requires Three Response Units

A grass fire kept emergency units busy six miles east of Frederick on Monday.

A grass fire kept emergency units busy six miles east of Frederick on Monday.

The Brown County Sheriff's Department, Hecla Fire Department and Frederick Fire Department all responded.

The fire was reported at around 3 p.m. It's not believed that anyone was injured.

Brown County Emergency Management Director Freddie Robinson said he was headed out to the fire shortly after it was reported but he got word it was under control.

A report from the Brown County Sheriff's Office said it's possible a shed also burned down.

No further information was available.
