Veteran AL Firefighter Suffers 'Trauma Injury'

The Mobile firefighter was taken to the hospital after he was hurt while battling a blaze Monday, but his injuries weren't considered to be life-threatening.

A Mobile firefighter was injured Monday morning while battling a fire in the west side of the county.

The extent of the firefighter’s injuries are not known, but Mobile Fire and Rescue officials said it was a “trauma injury,” and he’s been taken to Springhill Medical Center for treatment. The firefighter was described as a “veteran” by a spokesperson.

The fire broke out on Lucerne Drive some time before 9 a.m.

The firefighter’s injuries are non life-threatening, according to a Mobile Fire and Rescue spokesperson.
