Eight firefighters were hurt, two with serious injuries, in a Staten Island fire that broke out early Thursday, the FDNY said.

The blaze broke out around 8:40 a.m. on the second floor of a Livermore Ave. house near Caswell Ave. in Westerleigh, authorities said.

The flames were brought under control in less than two hours, the FDNY said.

The injured firefighters were taken to Richmond University Medical Center. No residents were injured.
