CA Firefighters Rescue Two from Roof of 3-Alarm Blaze

Around 60 Oakland firefighters battled a large blaze that broke out at a commercial building that housed multiple businesses in the city's Glenview neighborhood.

Firefighters rescued two people while they fought back a large structure fire at a commercial building in Oakland’s Glenview neighborhood Monday afternoon, officials said.

The fire was reported at 2:24 p.m. at 4226 Park Blvd., according to a dispatch official with the Oakland Fire Department. Businesses located inside the commercial building include Banana Blossom restaurant Cheshire Cat Clinic, and two maintenance workers were rescued from the rooftop.

Roughly 60 Oakland firefighters responded to the scene, officials said. Smoke had subsided by about 3:20 p.m.

The cause of the fire was not immediately clear.
