Missouri firefighters rescued two residents in their beds at an assisted living facility from a two-alarm fire early Tuesday.
The fire broke out at the Harvester Residential Care Facility in St. Charles County, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Flames ignited outside before spreading to the facility's attic.
Crews were able to safely evacuate nearly 40 residents. Firefighters also rescued two residents who were still in their beds at the time.
One resident suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to the hospital. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
