Deer Trapped in CA Canal Rescued by Firefighters

Firefighters saved a deer stuck in the waterway at Tributary and Gold Canal Sunday afternoon in Rancho Cordova.

Firefighters with Sacramento Metro Fire District were called by a passerby for a deer needing rescue that was trapped in the water at Tributary and Gold Canal. 

Fire officials stated the deer had giving up and was in dire need of rescue. Firefighters were able to successfully restrain the deer and bring it to shore using an inflatable rescue boat.

The deer had to relax with firefighters after its rescue before leaving the area.
