Deer Stuck Upside-Down Rescued by Oakland, CA, Firefighters

Sept. 24, 2024
Oakland firefighters communicated the best they could with their patient before gingerly freeing her.

As with any rescue, Oakland firefighters came up with a plan.

It would be a different operation as the victim was trapped upside down between the walls of a garage and a house.

Although the victim was alive and struggling, they couldn't really communicate their plan to free her.

They tied a rope around the legs, lifted her up off the ground between the walls and turned her around. They set her back down right side up which allowed them to pull her to the opening safely, Oakland firefighters explained on the department's Facebook page

Once back on solid ground and the ropes removed, she ran away.
