Historic LA Feed and Seed Store Destroyed by Fire

Marsolan's Feed and Seed Store in downtown Covington was the scene of a major fire Monday that destroyed the historic building.

The fire was reported around 7:00 p.m. and was well involved as firefighters arrived and started operations. The fire quickly consumed the wood structure built in the 1920s as firefighters set up defensive operations to extinguish it.

Department officials had some concerns that hazardous product may be involved but didn’t believe there was any threat to the public.
