Fire Damages D.C. Home; Injures Two Firefighters

Two Washington D.C. firefighters were injured battling fire in a three-story home late Tuesday night.

Two D.C. firefighters were injured at a residential fire on the 3800 block of Suitland Road Tuesday night.

DC Fire and EMS firefighters found a large, three-story home with heavy fire showing from the third floor, according to a tweet by DC Fire and EMS.

Crews advanced handlines into the dwelling and gained control of the fire on the second floor, then worked to control heavy fire on the top floor.

They used a transitional attack to knock down areas where the structure was compromised.

Fire officials said two firefighter suffered non-life threatening injuries.
