GA Firefighter Responds to Fire at His Own House

A Rincon firefighter was dispatched to a house fire at his own home that destroyed all of the family's belongings and claimed three cats.

An on-duty Rincon firefighter was dispatched for a reported house fire that ended up being his own home and was a total loss.

“When the address came out, the first station that is closest to that house happened to be the fireman who was on duty, and his daughter called him to make sure that, ‘hey we’re all out of the house and we’re trying to get all the animals out,’” interim Fire Chief Lou Reed told WSAV News.

All family members along with three dogs were able to safely escape before fire consumed the home. It left the family with essentially nothing.

Three cats were perished in the fire.

A GoFundMe has been set up for the firefighter and his family. One can donate by clicking here.
