Los Angeles firefighters battled heavy fire in a two-story warehouse Tuesday evening that damaged a large section of the building requiring more than 170 firefighters.
Crews deployed multiple handlines, and aerial devices and did extensive roof work to control the fire. It took firefighters around 70 minutes to bring the fire under control, KTLA reported.
While crews were fighting the downtown fire, another fire broke out in a vacant home in the Westlake neighborhood on the 900 block of South Park View Street.
The fire caused extensive damage to a Craftsman-style home and threatened two nearby structures including a daycare center. It took around 140 firefighters close to 45 minutes to bring the fire under control.
