A man died of electrocution in Taunton Thursday morning while apparently attempting to remove an antenna from an apartment building on Danforth Street, starting a fire on the exterior of the building, officials say.
Investigators believe that the man, who has not been identified, was removing an antenna from the three-story building at about 7:30 a.m. when it made contact with a nearby power line, according to the Taunton Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to the scene and put out the fire quickly with no other reported injuries.
WCVB reported that the man was an Easton resident and the landlord of the building.
The incident is being investigated by the town’s police and fire departments and the Massachusetts State Police.
