DANBURY — Firefighters rescued a man from a structure fire on West Lake Shore Drive Monday afternoon in Danbury, according to officials.

Fire crews responded to a two-alarm fire in a residence in the area of Aunt Hack Road, the Danbury firefighters union IAFF Local 801 said in a post on Facebook. Officials said one person had been rescued from the fire, adding the incident remained active as of about 1:30 p.m.

Danbury fire Capt. Mark Miguel said the rescued individual was transported to Danbury Hospital and his condition was unknown as of about 3:30 p.m.

Miguel said the fire marshal arrived on the scene and is investigating the incident.
