Over 100 FDNY Firefighters Battle Fatal 2-Alarm Blaze

One person died after jumping to escape the flames of the burning apartment building in Brooklyn's East Flatbush neighborhood early Monday.

More than 100 FDNY firefighters battled a fatal two-alarm apartment blaze in Brooklyn early Monday.

One person was pronounced dead at the hospital after leaping from the building to escape the fire, WPIX-TV reports. Three people suffered serious injuries, and four othersincluding an NYPD officer—were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The fire broke out just before 4 a.m. in the East Flatbrush section of Brooklyn. FDNY crews were able to control the blaze by about 5:15 a.m., according to WPIX.
