NY Firefighter Injured, Six People Rescued in 3-Alarm Blaze

Firefighters from multiple companies pulled six residents trapped in the burning three-story building in Buffalo that housed two hair salons early Tuesday.

A New York firefighter was injured and six people were rescued during a three-alarm blaze early Tuesday.

The fire broke out shortly after 6:15 a.m. at a three-story building that housed two hair salons, WKBW-TV reports. Firefighters were told several people were trapped on the third floor, and crews from multiple companies were pulled from the burning building, according to FBNY.

A firefighter was injured and taken to the hospital, WIVB-TV reports. The injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Crews were able to control the flames shortly after 7:30 a.m., according to FBNY. A dozen residents were displaced by the fire, which caused $425,000 in damage, WIVB added.
