A North Carolina firefighter was taken to the hospital after battling a house blaze late Tuesday.
The fire broke out after 11 p.m. in the rear of a single-story, wood-framed house in Durham, WRAL-TV reports. Nearly 40 firefighters and 17 units responded to the blaze.
A firefighter suffered issues related to a medical condition and was taken to the hospital in stable condition. No one else was injured in the blaze.
It took crews about a half hour to get the fire under control. The house sustained significant heat and smoke damage, and the fire displaced one resident, according to WRAL.
