Two FDNY firefighters were injured battling a three-alarm blaze that spread through several homes in the Bronx early Monday.
The fire broke out just before 1:30 a.m. at a home in the Throgs Neck section of the Bronx, WINS-AM reports. High winds fueled flames, and at least two attached houses also caught fire.
Nearly 140 frefighters from 33 units responded to the blaze, which was knocked down shortly before 3:30 a.m. A witness told LoudLabs News NYC that an there was an explosion in the backyard where the fire started.
Two firefighters suffered minor injuries during the blaze. They are expected to recover.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
