Watch as Roof Collapses During TX Church Fire

March 21, 2021
Sections of the roof collapsed twice as Fort Worth firefighters dealt with shooting flames while battling a fire at an unoccupied church.

Fort Worth firefighters found flames through roof of a church on the city's east side early Sunday.

Multiple 9-1-1 callers reported a church on fire at Little Street and Strong Avenue about 12:30 a.m.

Engine 4 arrived to find heavy smoke and fire from the t-shaped church and firefighters made an interior attack.

Truck 14 pulled crews from the building. They moved to a defensive attack using aerial master streams from Truck 1 and and Truck 14, along with handlines and BlitzFires.

The fire threatened adjacent homes and a building, but crews kept flames from spreading beyond the church.

The fire was brought under control in an hour.

The El Buen Samaritano United Methodist Church has been inactive since the pandemic broke out a year ago.
