Three people, including an elderly woman, were rescued from a Manhattan apartment fire that injured three FDNY firefighters early Wednesday.
The fire broke out shortly before 1:30 a.m. at an apartment building in the city's Hell's Kitchen neighborhood, WPIX-TV reports. It originated in a corner unit on the third floor before spreading to the fourth and fifth floors, shooting flames through building windows.
A woman in her 80s was among three people pulled from the burning building by FDNY firefighters. They were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Three firefighters also suffered minor injuries in the fire. The were taken to hospital and are expected to recover.
Crews were able to get the fire under control by around 2:15 a.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
