Body camera footage shows Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officers rescued a mother and two children by catching them after they jumped from a second-story window during an apartment fire.
The officers were among the first to arrive at the scene, where smoke was rapidly billowing from the windows of several apartments, according to a report by Fox 59.
Officers located the family trapped in a second-floor unit hanging out the window needing rescue as the mother was yelling for help. Officers spoke with the mother and were able to convince her to drop the children to safety.
Body camera shows the mother dropping a child from the window and an officer catches them. Seconds later, the second child is dropped to the waiting officers before the mother jumps to safety.
Firefighters evacuated 20 people from the structure in addition to the three police rescued.
