Bodycam: IL FFs and Police Rescue Woman from River

Joliet firefighters and police officers worked together to rescue a woman from the Des Plaines River.

Body camera captured Joliet police officers and Joliet firefighters rescuing a woman from the Des Plaines River.

Fire crews and police officers were called to the area of the drawbridge on McDonough Street for a report of a possible suicidal female who may have jumped from the bridge into the Des Plaines River, according to a Facebook post by the Joliet Police Department.

Police officers were able to locate the female in the water and provided her a rope to enable her to stay above water.  Fire crews arrived a short time later bringing a ladder and other rescue devices, working with police office they were able to extract the woman from the river.

The female was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation.
