A surveillance camera caught a pair of thieves stealing two power saws from a Houston Fire Department ladder truck while crews were working at a medical call.
While Houston firefighters were working the call a dark-color vehicle entered the parking lot near the truck and two people got out. The two opened a compartment door and stole two gas-powered saws and fled the scene, KHOU 11 reported.
Fire officials said it’s the first time they can recall someone taking their life-saving equipment while crews are out saving lives.
Firefighters have replaced the stolen equipment on their truck with spare saws. They said the cost to replace the stolen equipment is close to $4,000.
