Sacramento firefighters responded to an early morning fire that destroyed a house in the North Highlands area of Sacramento County.
Firefighters told KCRA 3 they encountered a wall of fire when they arrived at the home on Jackson Street just after 1:45 a.m.
Intense flames threatened a neighboring home, but crews were able to protect that property while searching for the people who lived in the first home.
Fire officials said crews were challenged by addition to the outside of the home and converted garage.
All 11 people who live at the address were able to get out on their own and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
