Boston FFs Save 5-Story Condo

A "good aggressive attack" saved the Roxbury complex, but dozens were displaced after the overnight fire.

Dozens of people are displaced after an overnight fire in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston.

The fire started just before midnight at a building on Northampton Street.

WCVB reports that at one point, flames were shooting from the roof of the five-story building.

Crews were able to stop the fire from spreading to the lower floors.

"It's five stories, so we had to run hose lines up over our aerial ladders onto the roof. A good aggressive attack saved this building," Boston Fire Department Deputy Chief Michael Hocking told WCVB.

Units inside the building reportedly sustained water damage.

No injuries were reported.
