Sunday was a pretty day for going skyward. So, that's just what Christiano Piquet did.
The Miami real estate broker told NBC he descended in his paramotor-powered glider to get a closer look at an alligator. But he spotted something else that made him decide to land immediately.
He saw a woman standing on the roof of a mostly submerged vehicle.
The commotion the aircraft made as it buzzed above the swamp-like waters and landed in a nearby field drew the attention of a neighbor, who came running as Piquet shouted: "We need help."
The neighbor handed the woman a rope and pulled her onto shore while the pilot offered guidance.
"We landed between power lines, uneven terrain," Piquet told a reporter. "It was a terrible landing situation. And for some reason, I was calm, and I landed."
