Dec. 12, 2022
Long Beach firefighters called for assistance to get the fire at the vacant shopping center under control.

Firefighters from multiple departments worked to extinguish a massive blaze at a Long Beach strip mall early Sunday.

Long Beach firefighters called for additional resources to assist when they saw the size of the blaze, CBS reported.

"Defensive operations were used to extinguish the fire due to significant fire progression and wind conditions encountered during this incident," LBFD officials told reporters.

Los Angeles City and County Fire Department crews assisted with the effort.

There have been no injuries reported. The structure was vacant as renovations were underway.
