Two PA Firefighters Briefly Trapped in Collapsed Garage

March 20, 2023
A rapid intervention team quickly rescued the firefighters at the Upper Allen Township incident.

Two firefighters trapped in a collapsed garage Sunday afternoon are recovering.

Firefighters ran into the home in Upper Allen Township when they heard two children were inside, WHTM reported.

Not long after they were found outside and OK, the garage collapsed, trapping two firefighters.

The rapid intervention team went in and cleared debris off of them. Both suffered minor injuries, Cumberland County PIO John Bruetsch told the media.

The two were transported to a local hospital for a checkup as a precaution.

The fire, that started in the garage, quickly spread to the house. It remains under investigation.
