At least two people have been injured in an explosion and fire at a Deer Park chemical plant.
Employees were evacuated, but no shelter in place orders were issued, KHOU reported.
Thick, dark smoke billowed into the air. In addition to the fire, crews also had to battle the heat.
Some plant workers who were watching from a nearby parking lot left the area due to the hot weather.
Reporters noted how loud the fire was, describing it as a roar.
