Three Killed in Bus Crash on PA Interstate

A crash between a charter bus with dozens of passengers and another vehicle in Dauphin County late Sunday killed at least three people, Pennsylvania State Police reported.
The crash happened just before midnight on Interstate 81 southbound at mile marker 74 in Lower Paxton Township. State police said the crash happened between a passenger vehicle and a charter bus carrying 45 to 50 passengers.
The bus flipped on its side and came to rest on the right berm, killing “multiple passengers,” state police said. Others were transported to Penn State Hershey Medical Center for “varying injuries,” police said. Injuries vary from minor to critical, state police said.
As of 5:25 a.m., three people have been confirmed deceased, state police said.
No one involved in the crash has been identified. The coroner was on the scene along with police and fire departments.
As of 4:15 a.m., all lanes were still closed between exits 77 (Manada Hill) and 72 ( Paxtonia/ Linglestown), per 511.
The Chambers Hill Fire Department in Swatara Township is being used to reunite passengers and for the Red Cross.
