A man stuck in a vault in a Midtown jewelry store was finally freed Wednesday morning.

But it wasn't the FDNY who made the difference. It was a timer.

Rescue crews spent about 10 hours trying to breach 30 inches of concrete and metal plating, ABC7 reported.

They decided any further attempts could possibly endanger the 23-year-old victim.
