FDNY firefighters rescued a worker after the trench he was working collapsed in the Bronx.

Around 100 FDNY fire and EMS personnel worked to free a man trapped in a trench that collapsed around him in the Bronx Thursday.

The worker was clearing a waste pipe when the trench failed,  pinning him up to his waist with debris, according to LiveNOW from FOX.

Firefighters set up shoring to secure the work area and then used a rope system to bring him out of the trench.

The rescue took about two hours and the worker was taken for a medical evaluation.
