For the second time in two years, flames billowed from the exhaust funnel on the Carnival Freedom cruise ship.
The ship’s fire response team was quickly activated as the captain turned the vessel towards the heavy rain in the area to maximize the efforts to put out the flames, NBCMiami reported.
The incident occurred just off the coast of the Bahamas.
While there were reports that lightning struck the funnel, that has not been confirmed.
Two crew members suffered minor injuries while all passengers are OK.
Future cruises have been cancelled as the ship requires repairs.
