Gas Explosion in D.C. Apartment Leaves Woman Seriously Injured

Other residents were evacuated after the blast in the third-floor apartment, D.C. fire officials said.

A gas explosion at a four-story apartment building in the nation's capital has left a woman with serious injuries.

Fire and EMS crews reported the incident occurred on the fourth floor of the building about 9:30 a.m. 

Other residents were evacuated as a precaution, WJLA reported.

The streets near the incident were blocked as crews investigated.
