Two NM Firefighters Injured During Large Brush Fire

Two Doña Ana County firefighters were taken to the hospital for evaluation after battling a brush fire in Vado that threatened structures and forced evacuations of farms.

Two New Mexico firefighters were injured battling a large brush fire Tuesday.

The blaze broke out shortly before 6 p.m. near Vado, KTSM-TV reports. It started near railroad tracks and quickly spread, threatening structures and forcing nearby farms to be evacuated.

Two Doña Ana County suffered minor injuries during the blaze. They were taken to a hospital for evaluation.
