Two OK Firefighters Injured at Wildfire

One Waynoka firefighter was flown to a hospital for treatment of burns.

Two Waynoka firefighters were injured while fighting a wildfire in Woods County.

One firefighter who suffered third degree burns to his hands and arms was flown to a hospital where he is undergoing treatment. The other, who sustained smoke inhalation was released after treatment, according to KOCO.

Their truck got stuck so they ended up taking an escape route from the fire that was growing rapidly, which caused the injuries, the fire chief said.
