Fitchburg, MA Thursday, August 24, 2006 at 7 pm. A 3-alarm fire destroyed the 2nd and 3rd floor apartments. This is a historic building utilized as a church in 1833. The tower ladder crew horizontally and vertically vented the front of the building and knocked down the main fire so crews could make an interior attack and avoid high temperatures.
An upholstery store on the first floor sustained water and smoke damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
