Heavy smoke could be seen up to 15 miles from the Pipestone Township location. Shuttle tankers and a 6 inch supply line helped contain the fire from spreading to additional buildings but the main 2400 square foot steel building was a total loss.

All the employee escaped without injury at the 3:15 pm fire. Assisting Eau Claire Fire Department were Berrien Springs-Oronoko Twp, Royalton Twp, Sodus Twp, Indian Lake, and Sister Lakes with Buchanan Twp covering for the working departments.
