On Sunday March 7, 2004 at 9:55:11 PM the Seattle Fire Department responded to location 6544 23rd Ave. NW to a fully involved house fire.
First responding companies A2, Air9, B4, B6, DEP1, E18, E21, E35, L5, L8, M31, SAFT2, STAF10 were aided with help from AIR260, L6, E20, E9, DEP1 & MAR5.
The house was home to 12 single men. The Seattle Fire Department PIO reported that there was one injury to one of the tenants. He was transported to the hospital by another family member, not the fire department.
The Red Cross and other volunteer agencies worked at relocating the displaced tenants.
There were reports of ammunition being stored in the house. Bystanders were moved away from the scene for safety reasons.
The fire was under control in a little over an hour. The Seattle Fire Department remained on scene all night and most of the next day working on hot spots.
The Seattle Fire Buff Society brought out their canteens and supplied the firefighters with much needed refreshments and other snacks.
