At about 6 AM on Friday, March 26, 2004 the Berwyn, Illinois Fire Department responded to a fire in a commercial occupancy.
An interior attack was mounted for a time but later withdrawn, due to fire conditions.
Several master streams and handlines were utilized and the fire was kept from spreading to an adjacent commercial property.
Efforts were hampered by rain showers which were heavy at times keeping the smoke low. The traffic in the area was heavily disrupted as very long supply line leadouts closed roads in the area.
Berwyn is a nearby suburb to the city of Chicago.
