At 3:43pm on Tuesday March 2nd, The Green Village and New Vernon fire departments were dispatched to a possible structure fire on Village Rd. Patrol quickly arrived on scene advising a confirmed working fire.

First arriving units found a 3 story modern style masonry structure with heavy fire and smoke showing. Due to the lack of hydrants in the area a tanker shuttle had to be established immediately. Many mutual tankers were called to the scene including Chester's, Ralston's, Far Hill's, and Warren's. There was also a full response from Bernardsville Fire Department, Liberty Corner, and Basking Ridge. Additional rescue trucks were called from Chatham and Morris Twp. to refill air bottles also a ladder from Morris Twp Fire Department was requested to the scene.

The fire was brought under control in a few hours but trucks remained on scene for a good amount of the night extinguishing hot spots.
