On March 31, 2006, around 12:30 pm, Stafford County Company 10 was alerted for a structure fire in the area of 100 Grosvenor Lane.

With other units tied up on a brush fire on Interstate 95, Wagon 10 and Rescue Squad 1 (Falmouth) were the only two available units to respond. Wagon 10 arrived on the scene within minutes after dispatch to find a three story garden style apartment building with heavy fire showing from all three floors on side 3.

Wagon 10's crew of 4 volunteers pulled a 200' 1 3/4" attack line to side 3 to protect the exposure, once that line was in place Wagon 10's officer and line man ran the 400' leader line to side 1.

The crew went to work on the third floor knocking down the fire in one of the apartments and with assistance from Wagon 2's officer (Stafford) opened up the ceiling and got a knock on the cockloft.

Wagon 2 ran a 200' 1 3/4" line to the second floor where they found the apartment of origin.

Tower 10 opened up the roof along with Tower 4 (Mountain View) and Truck 31 (Quantico).

Thanks to the aggressive work of all companies that responded the fire was knocked down in under 15 minutes. The bulk of the fire was contained to 2 apartments with several others sustaining smoke and water damage.

Units from Company 10 cleared the scene around 6pm.
