Island Heights Volunteer Fire Company Station 53 in Ocean County, New Jersey was dispatched to a reported structure fire, at approximately 6:30 am, on Friday, December 16, 2005.
Engine 5311 signed on with 5320 on board (Captain). Upon arriva, 5320 advised the Ocean County Dispatcher he had a fully involved, 3- story residential structure with multiple exposures. 5320 asked for a full response from East Dover Fire Company #4, Station 28, and an Engine and Fast Team from Toms River Fire Companies #'s 1 and 2, Stations 25 and 26.
The first Dover Township officer on scene was the Dover Township District Chief 1-100. The District Chief then asked for the Dover Township Day-time General alarm, which then brought Stations 29 and 30 onto the scene.
Upon further surveying of the scene, the Dover Township District Chief then asked the Dover Township Fire Dispatcher to have all Dover Township units expedite.
There were mutiple structures involved, and the original fire building collapsed.
There were approximatly 10 companies dispatched to assist in this alarm.
