Gleason, Wisconsin -- Fire broke out Monday October 31, 2005, at a residence in the Town of Russell, just outside of Gleason.
At 3:31 pm, the home owner called 911 to report a fire in the detached garage. The initial call indicated the fire was growing in the garage which contained two auto's and the house was in danger of catching fire.
When the Town of Russell Fire Department arrived on the scene they found the garage destroyed and the log home engulfed in flames.
Mutual aid was soon requested by the Merrill and Pine River Fire Departments. Russell Fire Department also responded with their new foam pumper trunk which was just recently delivered.
The house was a total loss but no one was injured.
Lincoln County Deputies investigated the fire and reported the home owner was using a wood burner inside of the garage earlier in the day to burn garbage.
Foul play is not suspected in the blaze.
