Propane Tanks Blow at Pa. Garage Fire

On Dec. 30 at 9:16 a.m., engine companies 31,33,27and 25 also truck 28, tankers 31 and 33 were dispatched to a garage fire in Silver Spring Township at 160 Texaco Road.A crew from Company 23 was dispatched for RIT.Chief 133 found a fully-involved garage minutes after dispatch.Two 20 lb. propane tanks vented resulting in a fireball out the front of the garage. Firefighters made a quick stop.It's believed that a malfunction in a 1976 Monte Carlo triggered the fire.

Crews remained on the scene for almost two hours before clearing the incident.
