A fast moving fire ripped through an Italian Restaurant on May 26, 2005. The blaze was so intense that firefighters had to battle the fire with an exterior attack.
The Halesite Fire Department responded to the 4 p.m. incident and immediately transmitted a structural fire. With heavy fire and thick black smoke showing , mutual aid was requested immediately. Six area departments were called in to help knock down the fire.
The Chief at the scene ordered his men off the roof of the structure for a concern that a collapse was possible. The firefighters fought the blaze with several tower ladders, as an exterior attack was the only option left to bring the fire under control.
After nearly 90 minutes, the blaze was finally brought under control. No injuries were reported.
