On Saturday May 21, Baltimore City Firefighters were extinguishing a bedroom fire at Fredrick and Font Hill Avenues when a "muffeled boom" was heard nearby.
Almost immediately, Foxtrot, the police helicopter reported heavy smoke from a nearby vacant warehouse formerly the Lasting Paint Company.
Upon arrival, heavy fire and smoke was showing and a citizen reported a person trapped in the basement.
An initial attempt was made to locate the victim, however conditions forced firefighters out.
The fire quickly enveloped three buildings, going to 5 alarms.
Due to condition of the building, exterior operations were the ordered.
During final overhaul, the body of an unknown person was located in the original fire building.
