At approximately 0800 hours on the morning of February 2, 2005 units were alerted for a house on fire on the corner of Goucher and Cunningham Drives in Berwyn Heights.

This brought Engine companies 11, 12, 13 and 35, Trucks 14 and 9, and Tower 7.

Just after the dispatch Communications added Medic 12 and Ambulance 17 to the call.

Truck 14, Squad 14, Chief 14 and Chief 14B responded with 14 personnel.

The truck arrived on the scene first and advised of heavy smoke showing. The truck crew began raising portable ladders, venting the roof, and opening up inside, while the squad crew began a search. Searches turned up negative and the squad assisted in opening up the ceilings looking for fire.

Firefighting was hampered due to the house being divided into apartments and having little access to the attic. The fire was extinguished and Command held companies 14, 11, and 9 to clean up.

Chief 14 (Fusco) had command, Chief 35 (Rudy) had Division 1. Chief 11A (Hughes) had command initially until the arrival of Chief 14.
