Condominium Burns in Alaska

The fire reached three alarms.

The Anchorage (Alaska) Fire Department responded to a structure fire in a four-story, wood-frame, non-sprinklered, 49-unit condominium. Within minutes of arrival, the first-due companies requested a second, then third alarm.

Thirty-nine firefighters on 16 units responded on the assignment. Later, an additional 49 firefighters on 20 units were dispatched. Off-duty career personnel were recalled to assist. Military and volunteers companies also were dispatched.
